400 Bedford St. - South Entrance*

400 Bedford St. is also known as the Starks Mill and the 'Morgan Self-Storage Building'.

Traveling down Bedford St., 400 Bedford St. will be the 3rd mill building on your left. Plenty of free parking is available directly in front of the building itself (though not on Bedford St. itself), and along the right side of the large driveway that separates the the 2nd and 3rd Mill buildings. This driveway is also where our marked front door sits - the South Entrance. Here you'll see the 'Mill Girl' statue standing atop the staircase that leads down to Commercial Street, while our sign sits above her head, our front door at her back.

  • aboutustopAcupuncture is one of the oldest, most common and dependable medical therapies used in the world. It is by nature simple, safe and effective health care. Acupuncturists use thin, sterile disposable needles inserted superficially into specific areas of the body in order to help the body's ability to heal itself. Over the three decades or so in which acupuncture has developed in the U.S., it has been proven to be not only exceptionally safe when performed by licensed acupuncturists, but statistically effective in an increasing body of scientific studies.

  • Our experience tells us acupuncture can reliably and safely decrease pain and inflammation, quiet spasms, boost immunity, dispel migraines, shrink swelling, relieve pain in almost any location, regulate hormones, cut recovery time from surgery almost in half, calm anxiety, lift depression, restore mobility, improve digestion, and create deep relaxation. Acupuncture is particularly helpful for people with chronic diseases, meaning conditions that can be managed but not cured. Because these folks often need to take many medications with multiple side effects, acupuncture can greatly improve their quality of life by helping with mood, energy and sleep – without creating any more side effects.  Click here more more information.

  • If you have more questions, we'd recommend diving into a copy of our new book Why Did You Put That Needle There? Available as a free written and audio download,  'Needles' is a no-nonsense question and answer guide intended for folks who are new to acupuncture, or for those of us who'd like just a little more insight, in plain speak.  Culled from actual questions most often heard in clinic, this book offers our best clear and honest answers.

Looking for a bound, soft cover version of the book at an affordable price? Look no further than Amazon.com. Clinics who are wanting multiple copies for their patients, contact us here.

  • MAS is a Community Acupuncture (CA) clinic.  CA is a social-business model that aims to increase patient access to acupuncture by offering treatments in a comfortable group setting and fees on an affordable sliding scale, without income verification.  By doing so we offer the opportunity to receive treatment as often as needed to get phenomenal results, while engendering a warm community atmosphere amongst patients and staff.  It’s a winning endeavour for both patients and the clinic. To find Community Acupuncture clinics around the country, or to read and watch more about CA, link here.

  • During your first visit, we'll sit for a consultation together and share information about your current health concerns.  The goal here is to figure out a plan to start moving things forward for you.  Once we establish a treatment plan, we'll move into the treatment room where you take a seat in a recliner of your choice, take off your shoes and roll up your sleeves and pant legs.  From here on out, your job is to kick back and enjoy a good rest. A typical treatment will last from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the condition being treated and how long you'd like to stay.

2-Minute Testimonial #6

Every so often, a downright miraculous transformation transpires.  This is one of the miracles telling a bit of her story.

2-Minute Testimonial #1

Given the chance, we prefer to let our patients do the talking for us.  This brief interview is the first in a series where people who are known to rest here at MAS answer the question, "What do you get out of your acupuncture treatments?"
